KAP Fall Festival

Tonight was the Fall Festival for KAP (Kelly Autism Program). This was our first year attending, and I didn't really know what to expect. Jason and I took both boys and it was an experience. There were lots of tables set up with different activities and games. Each child was given a picture schedule to follow so that they would be spread out among the games and Matthew's first activity was face painting. He looked at the guy with an expression as to say, "There is NO way you are going to put that on my face!" So we opted for a pumpkin on the back of his hand, and it took him all of 2 seconds to try to lick it off. (He ended up looking like he was growing a moustache when he got the paint on his face.) Other activities included corn hole, bean bag toss, cup cake walk, fish pond, pass the pumpkin, cookie decoration, make a Halloween bracelet, and more. Matthew did try to toss the corn hole bag once and then he took a bag and tried to walk up the board. He leaned over and put it in the hole which resulted in cheers from those around, including MISS TARA! Yep, Miss Tara showed up to see Matthew and the little smile on his face was precious when he saw her around the corner. He did the cup cake walk and won a cup cake which he grabbed with both hand and mashed to bits. Afterwards he was very stimulated and I said it must be from eating a chocolate cup cake. (Matthew can't eat chocolate due to having night terrors, but there weren't any others and I was only going to let him have the icing, BUT Matthew grabbed too quick!) Jacob had a great time and Matthew was excited to see Miss Tara, so it was worth our trip! (Don't forget to read the post below; it's from today too! Jacob has exciting news posted under the pic!)
